I’m getting married in September, which is a perfect excuse to print loads of stuff. First up was our ‘Save the Dates’…

Our wedding is literally in the middle of nowhere in the Welsh Black Mountains (the nearest postcode gets you to within a 10 minute drive of the reception venue), so we decided to base our theme on OS walking maps. The plan is to give every guest a map so that they can actually find us on the day. GPS won’t work, it dosn’t even exist on google maps, but they shall have no excuses!

Our save the dates were to be a simple note sent in the post to warn them of the upcoming date and to wait for an invite. I ordered a single plate from the Lyme Bay Press of the design I wanted, and digitally printed maps of the area onto 400gsm board. Each invite had a section of the map, so every one was unique. Then I printed the polymer plate in black over the top of this map. I was really pleased with the end result.

The make-ready sheet was pretty nice too.

We even did envelopes.

Now that the save the date was done, it was time to figure out the actual invites… watch this space!
